The Rabbit and the Turtle
Hurdle One: Forgiveness
“And they’re off!” the announcer said as he fired
off a round into the air. The rabbit and the turtle took
off. “The turtle is slow with his take-off, while the rabbit is
already far ahead of him,” the announcer yelled.
There were many hurdles that both the rabbit and
the turtle had to overcome throughout the race. The
first hurdle was the hurdle of forgiveness. The rabbit was
saved and truly loved the Lord, but he secretly harbored
unforgiveness in his heart towards the people that had
done awful things to him in the past. Although fellow
believers offended him and apologized for their offens-
es, the saved, swift rabbit still took it upon himself not to
speak to the people of God that wronged him.
Brother Turtle, after a while, finally made it to the
first hurdle. He was a very loving turtle of God. He, too,
had been hurt, rejected, and disappointed in the past.
But he decided to adopt the mindset of forgiveness.
The hurt, rejection, and disappointment that he expe-
rienced throughout his life couldn’t compare to what
Christ, his Savior, had gone through. Even Christ asked
the father to forgive his enemies, he said to himself.
Therefore, Brother Turtle forgave those, within and out-
side the body of Christ, that wronged him. Brother Rab-
bit continued to keep a large lead on Brother Turtle.
