Temporary Dwelling, Everlasting Promise
come was the hurdle of fellowship with the saints. With
unforgiveness Brother Rabbit had in his heart towards
those in and outside the house of faith, Brother Rabbit
began to church hop. In some of the churches Brother
Rabbit attended, he ended up harboring unforgiveness
because he felt offended. Eventually, Brother Rabbit de-
cided to settle in one place with a TV Pastor. He was no
longer concerned about people offending him, and he
became content with his state.
Brother Turtle, in the meantime, had finally made it
to his second hurdle. Brother Turtle loved the saints of
God and looked forward to the fellowship every time
the church doors opened. Not only did he love and look
forward to it, but he also loved to encourage the saints.
From time to time, he’d exhort the body of Christ on Sun-
days. After church on Sundays, Brother Turtle would eat
lunch with the saints, and later he would persevere to
the evening service. It had been revealed to Brother Tur-
tle that he was now in a new kingdom, living a new life.
The kingdom that Jesus Christ had delivered him from
was no longer of interest to him. Therefore, he focused
all of his attention on the body of Christ and the new
kingdom of which he was now a part. He also began to
show interest in a lovely sister turtle of God who also took
her time to show her interest in him.
Hurdle Three: Time in God’s Presence
Brother Rabbit continued keeping his lead on
Brother Turtle and ended up at the third hurdle which was
overcoming the hurdle of spending time in God’s pres-
ence. Brother Rabbit started off basking in God’s pres-
ence daily. However, his time with God became shorter
and shorter as the weeks went by. He slowly allowed his
desire to spend time with God to fizzle out. Brother Rab-
bit started making up excuses that kept him away from
God. He started procrastinating, saying he didn’t have
