casionally so that he would have a fresh word to feed
on. But Brother Turtle didn’t stop there. He included the
word of God in his daily routines when exercising. He
would listen to pastors like Joyce Meyers or Creflo Dol-
lar. When cooking or cleaning, he would have Kenneth
or Gloria Copeland on. He would even fall asleep with
Bishop T.D. Jakes, Rod Parsley, Joel Olsteen, or Jessie Du-
plantis in the background. Brother Turtle literally framed
his world around the word of God.
Hurdle Four: Evil Communications
Brother Rabbit still kept up with his steady pace
ahead of Brother Turtle, nearing the fifth hurdle, the hur-
dle of evil communications. Rabbit was invited to a small
get-together that his CEO had put together for the hard-
est working rabbits of the month. These rabbits had the
highest work performance and top sales. There were all
kinds of temptations at this get-together: alcohol, world-
ly music, and his female colleagues dressed in garments
that exposed their thighs and breasts. Sitting by himself,
trying hard to hold on to what little salvation he had
left, rabbit was approached by a particular female col-
league that he found rather attractive.
“Good evening,” she said to him. “Good evening.
Enjoying yourself?” Rabbit responded. “Yes, yes, I am.
Thank you,” she said as she sat down next to him. “I’ve
been waiting for the right opportunity to tell you how
handsome you are and that I’m very attracted to you. I
told my friends that I had the biggest crush on you”.
Brother Rabbit’s ears twisted together as his heart
started beating fast. “Really,” Brother Rabbit said, “I’ve
meant to tell you the same thing.” Her rabbit ears start-
ed to twist together as her heart rapidly fluttered about.
“Cheers to a new relationship and good success on our
job,” she said as they both toasted. They took large sips
