36 Fire Action Plan at TJ MRF’s
Fire action plans are displayed throughout TJ sites and can always be found displayed in
the weighbridge and mess rooms, please ensure that you identify the one on site relevant
to you.
In the event of discovering a fire you must:
Operate the nearest fire alarm call point;
If you hear the alarm but are unaware if there is a fire then;
Leave the building by the nearest exit do not re-enter the building to collect any personal
possessions, (they can be replaced);
WALK, DON’T RUN;
Report to the fire assembly point;
A fire warden will then take the appropriate action, assist you if required and call 999;
Do not return to the building until you have been given the all clear.
To note, if you are a machine driver and the alarm sounds whilst you are operating
machinery in the main shed, you must remove the machine outside into the yard if it is safe
to do so.
