Waste Reception
• Any operative operating the weighbridge must follow the weighbridge procedure at
all times. A copy of the weighbridge procedure must be kept at each weighbridge
station.
• When a vehicle enters site to dispose of waste, the load must be visually inspected
to identify the waste and check whether or not it is acceptable under the guidelines
set in the Waste Management licence for the site.
• Once the waste has been identified and deemed acceptable, a transfer note must be
issued to the disposer as set out in the site Working Plan.
• If the waste does not fall within the guidelines set out by the Waste Management
Licence, the load must be rejected and an entry made into the site diary recording
the time, date, and carrier of the waste and the reason for rejecting the load.
• After the points above have been completed, the vehicle must, when safe to do so,
be directed to the correct point of disposal for the waste carried. The machine
operator must always be made aware of any vehicles entering the disposal area
• All tipping must be supervised as set out in the Waste Management Licence to
observe the following :-
• All tipping operations are carried out in a safe and proper manner.
• The waste meets the description given before disposal.
• The waste does not contravene the licence conditions by containing any
unauthorised waste.
