11. Under no circumstances are persons under16 years of age allowed to enter the
                      site either on foot or as a passenger, except by prior arrangement with one of the
                      company directors.
                   12. By following the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and company Safety Policies,
                      your working environment can be a safe place to be for everyone. Unfortunately
                      accidents may happen, so there are guidelines in place to help you deal with any
                      such emergencies please refer to section 10 of this manual.
                   13. There  are  a  variety  of  machines  at  each  transfer  station  to  aid  in  the  waste
                      management process. No operative may operate any machinery on site until
                      they have been fully trained by an external instructor and have been assessed
                      as competent and certificated to use each piece of site machinery.
                   14. Please also be aware of uneven surfaces whilst moving around the site to ensure
                      that you do not have a slip, trip or fall. If you see any material on walkways then
                      please  if  safe  to  do  so  clean  it  up  and  remove  it  or  report  to  your  manager
                      immediately so that it can be removed.


                    Picking Line PPE Requirements



            Whilst working on the picking line in a TJ waste transfer station you must wear the
            following:

                ✓  Safety glasses (EN166 standard)
                ✓  High-visibility clothing
                ✓  Safety footwear (S1P standard)
                ✓  TJ issued safety gloves
                ✓  TJ issued hearing protection
                ✓  FFP3 face fitted RPE


            Wearing a hard hat is not a requirement for working on the picking line but is required
            elsewhere on site.

            Why wear these items?

                ✓  Safety glasses (EN166 standard) – Protect your eyes from foreign objects that could damage
                    your eyes or cause loss of sight
                ✓  High-visibility clothing – Allow you to be clearly visible in an environment with moving vehicles
                    and machinery.
                ✓  Safety footwear (S1P standard) – The steel top cap and mid sole protection offered by S1P
                    standard safety footwear prevent puncture and cuts wounds from nails and other sharp
                    objects.
                ✓  TJ issued safety gloves – Protect your hands from punctures, cuts or abrasions whilst handling
                    rough and sharp waste objects.
