Brief details of activities conducted are given below:
White-water rafting
• Short briefing by the instructor.
• Equipping the students with life jackets, helmets and paddles.
• Safety instructions by a guide on the raft.
• Learning and practicing paddling commands.
• Short swimming session’s en-route.
• Entering rapids of different grades.
• Paddling against strong current, entering the water-hole and undergoing surfing.
• Activity spread over three hours.
Hill-climbing and Night-trek
• Briefing by instructor.
• Climbing a steep hill and trekking up to sunset point.
• Watching the sunset.
• Explanation about sunset; and degrees technique for calculating time.
• Spotting stars and constellations.
• Night vision techniques.
• Night trek through jungle (mountainous terrain) without using torch.
• Sighting of wild animals (bonus).
• Night-trek activity spread over three hours in total darkness.
Day-trek (long distance)
• Briefing by instructor.
• Trekking around 10 km during mid-day, subjecting oneself to hot sun and thirst /
hunger.
• Ascending and Descending 600 ft.
• Spotting wild animals and birds.
• Activity spread over six hours.
• Day-Trek (short distance).
• Briefing by instructor.
• Trekking around 4 km through protected forest where Herbivore animals and Bird-
life can be spotted.
• To be in nature with nature and understand Man-Animal-Nature relationship.
• Fundamentals of Rock climbing.
• Activity spread over four hours.
