Quality assessment devices as curriculum components are important to
organize the assessment process because the devices determine the validity and
reliability of the assessment outcomes. Therefore, the devices, such as a test and a
scoring rubric, should meet the principle of the assessment. In fact, the syllabus for
writing courses is not supplied with the standard assessment devices, which causes
the assessment process to be ineffective in administrating the test and analyzing the
students' learning outcomes. The writer believes the scoring rubric is essential since
the teacher can use it to identify students learning profiles.
It had been discussed previously that GBA helps students create texts to meet
communicative purposes, so teachers should pay attention to GBA in writing
instruction. Also, GBA promotes students’ critical thinking as each text applies a
different generic structure, grammar pattern, and word choice. However, the
existing writing instruction implemented is not mediated by the GBA, while the
course objectives emphasize text-based instruction. As a result, students find it
challenging to compose a comprehensive text of different genres.
It is undeniable that advanced IT is very much needed in the educational
sector. In some cases, technological advances help teachers organize teaching-
learning processes to conduct instruction effectively. The lack of maximum
feedback in the classroom should be managed by using technology. However, due
to teachers' lack of IT skills, they do not take advantage of the merit of IT.

focuses on developing the multipurpose assessment model to support the teachers
