AUNT EDNA’S BANANA CAKE

        Ingredients
        1 ¼ cup white sugar

        1 cup mashed banana
        1/2 cup butter
        1 ½ cup flour
        2 eggs
        1 teaspoon vanilla extract

        1 teaspoon baking soda
        pinch of salt
        4 tablespoons sour cream



        Instructions
        Cream butter and sugar.
        Add eggs beaten lightly and the soda dissolved in the sour cream. Beat well. Add
        bananas, flour, pinch of salt and vanilla. Mix well. Bake in greased pan at 350 degrees

        for about 30-40 minutes. Decorate with powdered confectioners sugar.


        This is my grandson, Joey’s favorite cake. He always wanted this cake for his birthday cake.

        The only icing he wanted was the powdered sugar! This recipe was given to my mother by
        her good friend, Edna Storch. They became good friends when mom worked for her.




        APPLESAUCE CAKE

        Ingredients
        1/2 cup butter                           2 cups flour
        1 ¼ cup sugar                            2 teaspoons baking soda

        1 egg                                    1 teaspoon vanilla
        1 ½ cup applesauce                       1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
        OPTIONAL: 1 cup raisin                   1 cup nuts                      1/2 cloves
        Instructions
        Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs beaten and the vanilla. Add the rest of the ingredients

        and ix. Put into a greased and floured pan at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
