Exemplary Activities: The Hub Parents of Alpha Chapter gave a bus ride to Sands Casino to
raise money to cover the cost of transportation to the 2019 Youth Conference. Everyone had
an enjoyable time. We look forward to our 2020 bus ride to Wind Creek Casino to raise
money for the 2020 YouthConference.

LITERACY

Description of the Activity: The sorors played a game of Literacy Bingo using just images. The
exercise was taking from the Education resources Information Center also known as ERIC. This
exercise defined visual literacy as the ability to understand (read) and use (write) images and to
think and learn in terms of images.
AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY: No. of Sorors: 25 Xinos: 2 Kudos: 5 Others: 8
Description of the Activity: On Saturday February 9,2019 Alpha Chapter presented their Afro
American History program to the community and the sorors. Different sorors presented a short
synopsis on the following female history makers; Christine Darden, Alexa Canady, Mary Jackson,
Dorothy Vaughn, Katherine Johnson and Joycelyn Elders. Our Hub Parent Mrs. Michele Jenkins
performed the poem "The Good Mother." The Kudos educated everyone on the Devastation of
Black Wall Street and our Xinos did an excellent Hidden Figures skit. The program was enjoyed
by all.
