INTERPERSONAL RELATIONSHIPS (SISTERHOOD)
Sisterhood Activities: Number of Sorors: 20 Others:
Description of the Activity: Zeta chapter continues its tradition of honoring sorors on their
birthday. Soror Jane Gregory, 2rd. Anti- Basileus honors each soror with a card, Happy
Birthday (Stevie Wonder version) and a small gift. The New Year was welcomed in
immediately following January's meeting with a "Pot Luck" of home made soups and breads.
The Christmas holiday season began with Zeta's spreading the holiday spirit entertaining friends,
family and NSPDK sisters at our Winter Wonderland Fund Raiser at the Oaks Ballroom.

FOUNDERS' DAY: Number of Sorors: 19 Others:
DATE: ZETA and Eta Chapters, Chartered, March 5, 1927, shared church services at Christ
Care Unit Missionary Baptist Church, Sickleville, NJ. Sisterly activities included " We Speak
Your Names" by Pearl Cleage adapted for NSPDK Founders and "Lean on Us" a poem written
and shared by Soror Barbara Guerrero of Zeta chapter. Lastly, sorors sang an adaptation of
Bill Withers,"Lean on Me" You Just Call on Sister, when you need a hand, we all need
someone to Lean on....

HEALTH, NUTRITION, and HYPERTENSION: Number of Sorors: 20 Description of
Activities: Health related articles shared with Zeta Sorors advise us, Melatonin may help
sleep problems in people with high blood pressure who take Bea-Blockers. Information was
also shared dispelling the myth about Ginkgo bilopa lowing blood pressure in older adults. A
researcher from NIH (May 2019) was available to discuss the DASH eating plan for lowing
blood pressure.

SENIOR TEACHERS/SECOND CAREERS/RETIRED SORORS
VOLUNTEER PROGRAM (RSVP): Description of Activities: Zeta's retired Sorors continue
to serve their churches, schools and communities in after school tutorial programs. Soror
Deborah Johnson continues her presidency with the National Council of Negro Women while
Soror Nancy Alston is a tour guide at Mother Bethel's Underground Railroad Project.

ANTHROPOS: Number of Sorors: 4 Others: Description of the Activity:
Zeta Anthropos donated, prepared and delivered Thanksgiving baskets to needy families in the
community. Although small in number they are mighty in spirit and continue to assist and serve
Zeta sorors.
