Y. E. S. PROGRAM
Y XINOS: Number of Members: 3 Number of Sorors: Description of Activities: We are proud
to initiate 3 Xinos into Eta's Chapter. The Advisors are planning several workshops and
presentation during the year to continue to strive for effective communication. The workshops
are designed to encourage, empower, embrace understanding of self-worth. Other workshops
will include, social etiquette, academic success, bullying and mental health. Xinos and Kudos
will participate in these workshops.
KUDOS: Number of Members: 5 Number of Sorors: 2 Description of Activities: We are
proud to initiate 5 Kudos into Eta's Chapter. Kudos and Xinos participated in several
community projects. Some of the yearly projects includes MLK Day of Services,
Thanksgiving sorting and distribute baskets, fundraisers and toy drive in December. At our
Annual Scholarship Fashion Show Luncheon the Kudos assisted the model on and off the
runway.
KAPPA OMICRON TAU (KOT):
e HUB PARENTS: Number of Sorors : 3 Others: 8 Description of Activities: The Hub Parents
support all activities sponsored by Xinos and Kudos. The chapter invited the Parents to attend our
Scholarship Fashion Show Luncheon.

LITERACY
READING: (in the content areas, tutoring, mathematics, language, science, social
studies, family literacy, etc.) Number of Sorors: 10 Number of Students: 15 Description of the
Activity: Sorors volunteered to read to Pre-K-8 grade students at the following schools: Forrest Hill
School, Cooper's Poynt Family School, Dr. Henry H. Davis Family School, Riletta Twyne Cream Early
childhood Center, and H B Wilson Elementary Schools in Camden, NJ. Sorors reinforced the love of
reading. Students as well as the Sorors enjoyed the day. Sorors read several books of interest which
included but not limited to professional development.
AFRICAN AMERICAN HISTORY: Number of Sorors: 20
Description of the Activity: Eta Sorors participated in "Black History 104" and Black History Month
Quotations" activities lead by committe membes: Jarian Graham, Vanessa Jenkins, Debra Jordan, and
Gloris Bivins. Twenty-seven Sorors received pins made my Soror Bivin's daughter. Black History
Facts document can be used with famly and classrooms. Sorors in African attire recognized our own
"SHERO" Soror Gloria Bivins, who played an integral part during the civil rights movement.
