NATIONAL SORORITY OF PHI DELTA KAPPA, INC. • 80TH ANNUAL EASTERN REGIONAL CONFERENCE
TECHNOLOGY/COMPUTERS: Number of Sorors: 10
Description of the Activity: Soror Wise has outdone herself in her efforts to update our social
media presence and share technology tips to the members of the chapter. The use of social media
has several veteran Sorors unsure of how to engage and the ramifications of interactions with
unfamiliar people. The hands-on presentation and careful explanation were helpful to many of
the Sorors and a sense of pride at the media presence that Beta Tau is developing.
CHILDREN, ADULT & EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION, TOUCH -A-CHILD:
Number of Sorors: 5 Others:
Description of the Activity: The Beta Tau chapter reached out to our adopted school to provide
hats, gloves, and scarves to the students to keep them warm through the harsh winter months. So
many of the children in the area are lacking in the basic needs and could use not only a warm
hug but warm clothing to help on chilly days. Beta Tau also donated $100.00 to a local childcare
center. This is an annual presentation to be used for educational supplies and services. Another
annual activity that Beta Tau enjoyed was thee visit to the Wicomico County Nursing Home
over the Winter holiday. We made a donation to the nursing home, visited with residents and
took holiday photos to make lasting memories.

Description of the Activity: The chapter enjoyed several opportunities to engage in team-
building activities to strengthen the relationships among the sisters. During the monthly meeting,
the chapter participated in activities that helped the sorors to bond on a deeper level.
An evening of potluck took place with several sorors to offer support for the sisters in the group.
Music, laughter, food, and fun filled a pleasant evening of sisterhood.
The conclusion of the Winter program at the Wicomico Nursing Home was a dinner and gift
exchange at a local restaurant. It was a lovely time of sisterhood! Plans to continue such
activities bring excitement to the chapter. Feel free to share any wonderful ideas that you may
use!
