CONFERENCE THEME: “PUTTING THE PIECES TOGETHER: SISTERHOOD, EDUCATION, & CULTURAL RELEVANCY”
THE NATIONAL SORORITY OF PHI DELTA KAPPA, INC. • 80TH ANNUAL EASTERN REGIONAL CONFERENCE

FOUNDERS' DAY: Number of Sorors: Others:
Description of the Activity: The annual Founder’s Day activity is a joint celebration with
our sister chapter, Alpha Pi, from Dover, DE. This year, the celebration was
cancelled due to circumstances beyond the control of our chapters. We look forward
to sharing the blessings that come from remembering the vision of our founders.

                              PROJECTS:
INTERNATIONAL PROJECT (amount of the donation): $100.00
NATIONAL PROJECT (amount of the donation): $50.00
LOCAL PROJECTS (contributions to local charities): $200.00
HEALTH, NUTRITION AND HYPERTENSION: Number of Sorors: 12
Description of the Activity: After long periods of stress, work-related or personal, the body
tends to respond. The largest organ of our body- our brown skin- often shows the stress before
the rest of the body. The sisters were actively engaged in the session, learning how to best care
for our beautiful brown skin. We learned about the power of water and food to improve the
condition of our skin and how to cleanse, calm, and rejuvenate using DIY skincare regimen.
We felt empowered and refreshed knowing that we could learn to care of our beautiful brown
                  skin.
                         SENIOR TEACHERS/SECOND CAREERS/RETIRED SORORS VOLUNTEER
PROGRAM (RSVP): Number of Sorors: 8 Others:
Description of the Activity: Sorors made Valentine’s Day cards for the 82 residents at the
nursing home which the chapter helped to build in the early 1960s. The cards were prepared to
                  be distributed in February.
Our retired Sorors continue to volunteer at local schools and support new teachers in
their classrooms. A newly retired Soror has taken on the role of Implementation Coach for a
mixed-method research study at the local university which infuses cultural relevance in public
                  schools.
ANTHROPOS: Number of Sorors: 12 Others:
Description of the Activity: The sorors supported our Anthropos in November at the 17th
Annual Scholarship Breakfast for the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. The chapter shows sisterhood
with other sororities and fraternities by attending the event each year. This year was an
opportunity to uplift our community and be recognized as an organization that works to
strengthen its ties to the area.
