USTING SIZE
1. With Computer/This PC selected in the Navigation Pane (left), click on the Maximize/Restore button on the
right side of the Title Bar (middle button on top of window) This button alternates between Maximize and
Restore. If it is currently set to Restore, click it again if necessary to fill the screen (Maximize) with this
window.
2. Click on the Maximize/Restore button again to move screen back to smaller size.
3. Click on the Minimize button (minus sign) to shrink the program Minimize, Maximize/Restore,
down to the Taskbar at bottom. It is still open, but in button form. Close
4. On the Taskbar, click on the File Explorer icon on the Task Bar
and open the window again to full size.
J. Moving, Sizing, and Scrolling a
Window
5. If necessary, click the Maximize/Restore Button so that the window is NOT filling the screen. Position
the mouse pointer on the Title Bar of the window.
6. Click and drag (hold down the left mouse button while dragging) to move the window in any direction
and release.
7. Point to the edges of the window and notice the double-headed resize arrow (sizing handle) that
appears
8. Press and hold down mouse with double headed arrow on right side of window to resize the window.
Drag in any direction.
9. Resize the bottom of the window as well.
10. Point to the lower-right corner of the window until a diagonal two-headed arrow appears.
11. Using the corner sizing handles, change the height & width proportionally.
12. Drag corner arrow up and to the left until you see only four icons. Notice that a scroll bar appears to aid
you in moving around the screen. Click on the down-pointing scroll arrow.
13. Resize the Computer/File Explorer window back to its original size. Notice the scroll bars disappear.
14. Move window back to its original location on the screen, then click on the Maximize button on the Title
bar.
15. Click the X to close the window. Then re-open File Explorer by clicking on the icon on the Task Bar.
