Things are rapidly changing in the SW. Mark Rowney has started to bed
into life at CGL and is enjoying his daily conversations with Steve on the
finer points of elevated arsenic in Cornish soils. We have established a
new home for the Bristol Office and we hope to reveal all over the
coming weeks. After a good start to the year with BD and on the back
of Mendip cabling from Hinkley, we have secured a fantastic cross office
project between Exeter and London for the investigation and subsequent
design support of Citicape in Holborn for one of our biggest regional
clients, McAleer and Rush. These works, have certainly got Steve and
Amir, and it is fair to say Mark C, excited, and they are coming online
now. In addition, we have secured further works in Glasgow for McAleer
and Rush and have two further tender opportunities for them on 'exciting
sites'. Exeter has been the centre of cross office capability recently and
we love sticking our nose into other people’s business, showing that we can support across the spectrum.

Business development is the best it has been recently and this is showing the efforts being made in
diversifying the Exeter client base and establishing the Bristol office as a presence. We have been active on
the Breakfast Briefing front and have delivered two very successful waste presentations with support from
Jo Strange, Mark R and of course Mr Happy himself, Steve Morgan. These were well received and carefully
delivered earlier this year in Exeter and last month in Bristol and have generated additional work for the
region. Richard Ball provided support with the RuFuS presentation in Bristol back in March. So, a very
active and busy few months for the region.

We have recently been supporting heavily with the delivery of Old Oak Common and Amir has provided
that crossover while CGL has got up to speed. Alex must miss the northern climate, as she has been
supporting Harrogate on a number of projects recently and we are trying to work out when and where we
last saw Sam, sometime in the last geological epoch we think... Joking aside, it has been very busy across
all fronts and it is hard to imagine that we are at the mid point of the CGL financial year. You may also be
thinking, just what has the RD been up too!

And finally, some of you may or may not be aware, we have also had both Gareth and Adam out of action
recently. Adam has had surgery to correct an ongoing issue; he is recovering well and is back in the office
part time, while Gareth was recently involved in a serious accident. Fortunately, he is on the mend, but we
will be managing his return to work as he recovers from surgery.
