WORK AT HEIGHT
● Before undertaking any work at height, consider which is the safest means of
access. Instead of selecting a podium step consider whether a MEWP is safer.
● If the SPA justifies the use of podium steps to be the safest means of access the
user should:
● Inspect the work equipment to ensure it is in good order:-
ü Checking stiles, rungs and platform;
ü Check wheels and working platform;
ü Check guardrails and platform locking bars can be secured;
ü Where provided, check locking bars between stiles can be secured;
ü Podium steps must be in good order before use.
ü Report defects, do not use faulty work equipment.
Test you work at height knowledge by completing the test.
