MEWP’s

Store MEWP’s safely out of the way of
access routes and near a charging point.
MEWP operators must be trained and
display a MEWP operator sticker on their
helmet.

When completing the MEWP
inspection form, make sure you
record the correct serial number.

Place barriers around the work area.
In some cases it may not be possible
to place barriers completely around
the MEWP due to restricted access.
Therefore a SPOTTER may be
required, preferably a combination of
both.

Where the MEWP operator needs to gain
additional height above the platform requiring
require a hop-up, a Special Access Permit will be
required approved by Jacobs Safety. The hop-up
must be strapped and secured. The MEWP
operator must have 100% tie off using 2 point
lanyard, one of which must be connected
attached to a structural member .

Consider where you park the MEWP
at break times. NEVER block fire
escape or designated walkways.
