USE OF ABRASIVE WHEELS

● Check that blotters on the wheel are in

good order;

● Ensure machines are well maintained;

● Set the correct gap between the wheel and
the tool rest on fixed grinding wheels;

● Guards must be provided to all abrasive

wheel machines including cut-off saws;

● All controls must be clear and readable;

● Ensure PPE is worn. Additional impact
resistant Safety visors, hearing protection

and leather apron must be worn;

● Use fire retardant screen to reduce the
risk;

● Suitable foam fire extinguisher and fire
blanket to be provided.
