SLIPS, TRIPS AND FALLS

SUMMARY OF CONTROL MEASURES:-

• Clean as you go, regularly clean work area

and stack materials safely;

• Keep pedestrian routes and fire escape

routes clear;

• Avoid work at height where possible;

• Risk assess the selection of work at height

equipment in accordance with the

“general principles of prevention”;
• If work at height cannot be avoided,

provide suitable edge protection, work at

height equipment or collective measures
to prevent falls;

● Use suitable and sufficient collective
measures to mitigate the consequence of a

fall from height;

● Check with the manufacture of floor
coverings the recommended cleaning
solution;

● Clean up spills immediately, place warning
sign “spills hazard” and treat spill as

contaminated waste;

● If using access scaffold, scaffolding must be
erected by competent scaffold contractor;

● Working platforms to be fully boarded and
provided with guard rails and intermediate

rails;
