Storage of chemicals
• All chemicals must be pre-approved before bringing them to
site. A chemical approval form must be submitted to the HSE
department with an EU MSDS.
• All chemicals on site must be stored in an agreed area.

conditions. Do not store chemicals that are non-compatible or
that could cause a reaction.
• A hard copy of the MSDS for all chemicals must be kept in the
cabinet at all times. All MSDS sheets must be from with the
last 4 years.
• All chemical cabinets must be clearly identified with hazard
signage and ownership signage.
• Keep all chemical cabinets clean and tidy; remove empty
containers as you go. Remember that empty chemical
container need to be disposed of as per MSDS.
• Usage of chemicals on site must be kept to a minimum.
Disposal of chemical must be as per MSDS.
• Never transfer chemicals into different containers. Always
ensure the chemical name and information labels are intact
and legible.
• Ensure when handling chemicals you have the approved PPE
as per MSDS. If in doubt ask your HSE Advisor.
