Welfare facilities – Changing/drying
• Canteen and drying facilities must be separate.
• All jackets must be hung on hangers provided in
drying rooms. Lunch bags/boxes must be stored
on racking and shelves provided on canteens.
• Do not leave belongings on the ground or on top
of units as these create fall hazards and trip

• Claim your belongings each evening.
• Oil filled radiator type heaters are preferred.
These must be PAT tested quarterly.
• Never hang clothes on or over heaters.
• Welfare facilities must be adequate for the
number of people present on site and must have
suitable tables & chairs.
• All facilities must have a fire extinguisher
present at the entrance/exit door and all must be
fitted with battery operated smoke and fire
detectors.
• Ensure access is safe into all cabins. Proper
steps required.
• RECI certs are required for all electrical
installations prior to energizing.
