is also a hereditary leadership in which the change of position

of the headmaster (datuk) directly from a mamak to his
nephew without going through deliberation. A nephew has

been prepared from the start as a substitute for the position of

the datuk if the current datuk dies or abdicates the throne. The
following proverb describes the existence of a hierarchical

               leadership:
                                 Kamanakan barajo ka mamak,

                                 mamak barajo ka pangulu,
                                 barajo ruler, you agree,

                                 nan bana badiri yourself,
                                 manuruik alua jo patuik. 111

This means that the kamenakan must obey mamak's

kings to uncles, uncles are kings to pengulu (datuk), pengulu are kings to
consensus, consensus is king to what is right, what is right stands by itself,
according to the flow and propriety (conscience).
