6. Community Mobile Library: 8 mobile reading clubs have been formed across child
labour-endemic communities. This intervention aimed to enhance the self-esteem,
literacy, and communication skills of target children through reading activities. The
successes of the intervention have kickstarted conversations among community
leaders to establish school libraries in three schools, using the books provided by the
project as the initial stock. An inter-sector essay competition was held among children
throughout the project sectors, and all participants received certificates while the
winners received other prizes.
7. Birth Certificates: 1758 birth certificates were procured and distributed to children who
did not have any. This document is increasingly critical as it can help protect children
from various forms of violence, abuse and exploitation such as child marriage, child
labour, trafficking and illegal adoption. It can also help children access essential social
services, such as health care, education and justice. Birth certificates can also help
prevent family separation and statelessness for migrant and refugee children.
