Abstract

In 2014, Thai society became aware of the problems in human trafficking that
has never happened, especially government agencies. This is because all media were

united in reporting on the topic, the United States of America made an annual Trafficking

in Persons Report (TIP Report). 1) Thailand was ranked in Tier 3 means the country was
ranked for having the worst trafficking situation. This may affect the rights of trading and

investment of the country, especially in industries that have been accused of slavery, such
as the fishing sector, sugar cane, and clothing. Therefore, it was impossible to buy goods

as the state to the state. The United States may not agree with the financial aids from

international financial institutions including the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the
World Bank. Moreover, the country may be subject to a suspension of the Generalized

System of Preferences (GSP). The Thai government had to urgently proceed with the

measures for solving the problem. Until the situation was improved in 2018, the country
was classified in Tier 2, but in 2021, the country was downgraded to Tier 2 Watch List, once

again.
