2. What common topic is frequently included in an agenda?
Sample answer:
The basic subject included in an agenda is internal team or group concerns. Accom-
plishments can also be a factor to consider as a regular topic and the agenda may
include commendations for jobs well done. Future campaigns, projects or programs
may also be included to ensure that the group focuses on the important aspects of the
planning process.
3. Can you create a systematic agenda?
Sample answer:
Yes, by simply creating a program aligned with the objectives. Creating an outline of
the important topics may assist when creating an agenda. Making sure that the agen-
da is systematic ensures that all the important topics are covered and that the discus-
sion does not stray from the main point or objective.
1. At the office, you are given the task to create the agenda for the annual meet-
ing. You are going to conduct a closed door meeting with your supervisors.
Sample answer:
Good morning! I’ll be asking comments and suggestions before anything else. Most
likely, the agenda would be based on your suggestions. I have compiled a list of topics
for discussion, based on the current issues within the company, but I’m open to opin-
ions and suggestions before finalizing anything. I want to make sure that the topics
you wish to address during the annual meeting are included, so we can prioritize. The
meeting will last for 4 hours. I’ve prepared copies of the proposed topics, so we can go
over them together and discuss which ones will be included in the final agenda.
2. At the school, the teachers and the principal are creating the agenda for
a PTA meeting. The main goal is to prioritize the topics, and as a tenured
teacher, it’s your turn to speak your mind.
Sample answer:
We should prioritize first the safety issues in the school. I’m sure most parents consider
that as a priority, as well. The parents may have some suggestions and we can effec-
tively discuss the proposed budget for that concern. After that, we should discuss the
academic needs of the students. If we need funds to address that issue, we can also
follow-up with a discussion about how to raise the funds. This way, not only will we
gain ideas, but we can also involve the parents in the fund raising activity.
