Students Participate in Webinar on CyberSecurity/IT Trends and

         Jobs in the Upstate


         On February 17, 2022, Mr. Thornton’s In-
         formation Technology classes attended the
         SC Days Upstate Webinar: Exploring Cyber-
         Security and IT for the Upstate.  The Webi-
         nar was presented by SC Future Makers,
         Tallo, and the South Carolina Department
         of Commerce.  Representatives from Spar-
         tanburg Regional Hospital Systems, Milli-
         ken, and Spartanburg Water shared infor-
         mation about their businesses and how CyberSecurity and IT is pertinent to their in-
         dustry.  USC Upstate and Spartanburg Community College presented information
         about the programs they offer and career opportunities in the IT field.



         Automotive Students Earn Multiple Certifications


          Mr. Gibson is "tuning-up" resumes in Auto Tech!
          Congratulations to Cody Gregory-BHS, John Kurkis-
          SHS, and Travis Gist-SHS for receiving ASE certifica-
          tions in Automotive Technology. All three students
          will be completers in Automotive Technology and
          have also received OSHA Certifications.  We are
          very proud of these students and their accomplish-
          ments.


         Machine Tool Student Earns Another NIMS Certification

          We are proud to announce that Nathan Scruggs, Spartanburg
          High School junior and Machine Tool Technology II student,
          earned his second National Institute of Metalworking Skills
          Certification (NIMS) pertaining to CNC Mill Programming, Set-
          up, and Operations. Congratulations on this outstanding ac-
          complishment!
