MG Nathan Towson Award - Recognizing Excellence
The MG Nathan Towson Regimental Medallion is an excellent and appropriate way to recognize the
contributions of Finance Soldiers and Civilians in your formations. I encourage all leaders to take
the opportunity to hunt for the “Good Stuff” in your formation and reward it with the MG Nathan
Towson Regimental Medallion. Use the Towson Award to recognize Finance Soldiers and
Civilians.

The Finance Corps Association (FCA) established the MG Nathan Towson Regimental Medallion
on May 7, 1993, to recognize exceptional achievement or exemplary service by Finance Soldiers
and Civilians. While this is not a permanent change of station (PCS) award, it is an excellent way
to recognize the achievements and service of deserving Finance Soldiers or Civilians when they
conclude their tour of service at a duty location. Additionally, you can present this award for a
single exemplary achievement of a Finance Soldier or Civilian.

Who pays for the award? The FCA pays for the award for any member of the FCA. If the recipient
is a lifetime member, the FCA will pay for the shipping and handling to mail the award to the
presenter. If the recipient is a gold member or an annual member, the recommender is
responsible for paying $30 for engraving, shipping and handling fees once the award is approved.
I encourage you to hunt for the “Good Stuff,” find the Soldiers and Civilians doing great financial
management work, and recommend them for a Towson Award today. Please write a short, concise
narrative, send it to the FCA Award’s Vice President (Thomas Brown, tlbrown318@gmail.com,
Cc... awards@fincorps.org), and let’s reward our Financial Managers - Soldiers and Civilians, for
their exceptional work. Please remember this is not a PCS or Retirement award. Don’t wait to
submit a deserving individual for the Towson award when getting ready to PCS or Retire.
