DI - 82 Diagnosis - Diagnosis-fault diagnosis of electronic and electrical parts

6. Check of high-pressure fuel pump

a. Observe the high-pressure fuel pump for fuel leakage and fuel pipe for leakage.
b. Check whether the connecting bolt of high-pressure fuel pump and fuel pipe is firm and reliable.
Check if the result is ok?
Yes>go to Step 7.
No>check and repair relevant part.

7. Check of fuel level measuring unit circuit

a. Check the connector for loosening or damages.
b. Adopt a multimeter to measure the resistance between pin 1 or 2 of fuel level measuring unit connector
A002 and pin 32 or 31 of engine ECM connector A001.
Standard resistance:

Multimeter connection Standard value

A002(1)-A001(32)
About 0Ω
A002(2)-A001(31)

Check if the result is ok?
Yes>go to Step 8.

No>check, repair or replace relevant harness.
8. Check the fuel pressure sensor and its relevant circuit.

a. Check the fuel pressure sensor. (refer to Chapter DI diagnosis- engine electronic control fault
diagnosis–fuel pressure sensor failure)
Check if the result is ok?

Yes>go to Step 9.
No>replace the fuel pressure sensor or its faulty harness.

9. Check the injector and circuit
a. Check the injector(refer to “Chapter DI Diagnosis-Diagnosis of Engine Electric Control Fault-Fault of Fuel
Injector Circuit”)
Check if the result is ok?
Yes>go to Step 10.

No>replace the fuel injector or its faulty harness.
10. Replace and check ECM

a. Replace ECM.
b. Check if the failure is eliminated.
