Diagnosis procedure IN
Caution

● Before performing the diagnosis, ensure the good connection of engine ECM and coolant temperature DI
sensor.
● Before performing electrical diagnosis and test, refer to the schematic wiring diagram and EG
components information

● Before testing, check if the pins of connector are broken, loose or corroded. Make sure the pins in TR
good contact.

● If it’s required to remove the cooling fluid temperature sensor for check, be sure to cool the engine.
AX
1. Read the DTC and data on the diagnosis instrument

a. Start the engine and run it to the normal working temperature

b. Use the diagnosis instrument to perform DTC confirmation procedure

c. Perform the procedure of reading the sensor data stream
ST
d. Read the coolant temperature sensor data indicated on diagnostic unit.
Check if the result is ok? BR
Yes>intermittent failure
NO>go to Step 2. BW

2. Read the data of diagnostic unit.
a. Ignition switch: LOCK. EL

b. Connect pins 1 and 2 of cooling fluid temperature sensor
connector A003.
c. Ignition switch: ON.

d. Read the cooling fluid temperature value indicated on
diagnostic unit.

Test results:
Diagnostic unit check Standard value

Temperature About 140℃

Check if the result is ok?

Yes>go to Step 3.

No>confirm that the sensor is well connected. If it’s normally connected, replace the cooling fluid
temperature sensor.
