DI - 44 Diagnosis - Diagnosis-fault diagnosis of electronic and electrical parts
3. Check the power circuit of cooling fluid temperature sensor.
a. Ignition switch: ON.
b. Measure the voltage of #2 pin to ground from the back of
A003 connector of cooling fluid temperature sensor.
Standard voltage:
Multimeter connection Standard value
A003(2)-grounding About 5V
Check if the result is ok?
Yes>go to Step 4.
No>check, repair or replace the power harness of cooling fluid temperature sensor.
4. Check the ground circuit of cooling fluid temperature sensor.
a. Ignition switch: LOCK.
b. Disconnect the battery negative pole
c. Separately disconnect the cooling fluid temperature sensor connector A003 and ECM connector A001.
d. Measure the resistance between Pin 1 of cooling fluid
temperature sensor connector A003 and Pin 43 of ECM
connector A001.
Standard resistance:
Multimeter connection Standard value
A003(1)-A001(43) About 0Ω
Check if the result is ok?
Yes>go to Step 5.
No>Repair or replace the faulty harness.
5. Replace and check the cooling fluid temperature sensor.
a. Replace the cooling fluid temperature sensor.
b. Use the diagnosis instrument to perform DTC confirmation procedure and read sensor data stream
procedure
c. Read the data of cooling fluid temperature sensor indicated on diagnostic unit.
Are the results normal?
Yes> Replace the cooling fluid temperature sensor.
NO>go to Step 6.
