Rear axle- Differential assembly

(c). Disassemble the right half-axle gear and the
thrust washer of the half-axle gear.

(d). Measure the tooth surface clearance between the
planetary gear and the half-axle gear with a dial
indicator.

Notice:

Make sure to compact the cross shaft of the planetary
gear to avoid sliding.
Hint:
More than 3 points shall be measured at this step.
Tooth surface clearance:

Vehicle type Tooth surface clearance
Standard Limit

1051 series 0 ～ 0.09 mm 0.18 mm
1061 series 0 ～ 0.09 mm 0.18 mm

1089 series 0 ～ 0.15 mm 0.30 mm
If the tooth surface clearance is beyond the limit value,
check the wear of the thrust washer, planetary gear and 25
the half-axle gear and replace them if necessary.

(e). Remove the planetary gear and the cross shaft
assembly (including the planetary gear thrust
washer).
(f). Remove the planetary gear and the planetary gear
thrust washer from the cross shaft.
