Rear axle- Differential assembly
7. Check the driven gear
(a). Check the tooth surface of the driven gear damage and wear.
• Repairing is needed if slight damage is found on the tooth surface.
• If the defects of scuffing, peeling, spot corrosion, cracks or excessive wear are found
on the tooth surface, replace with a new driven gear.
Notice:
The setsof driving gear and driven gear must be replaced together.
8. Remove the differential bearing
(a). Remove the inner ring of the differential bearing
from the left and right housing of the differential
by a puller.
Notice:
Make sure that the inner ring of the differential
bearing and the adjusting nuts and bearing cover
removed are placed together and the parts of the left
side are separated from those on the right side.
9. Install the differential bearing
(a). Install the inner ring of the differential bearing
on the left and right housing of the differential.
25 Notice:
Make sure the installation is carried out in
accordance with the left and right labels.
10. Install the driven gear
(a). Sealant is daub on the screw thread of the 12 bolts and inside the threaded hole of the driven gear.
Sealant: GY-340 anaerobic adhesive
(b). Screw down the 12 bolts in order and connect
the driven gear and the left housing of the
differential.
Torque:
Vehicle Torque
1051 series 108 ~ 161 N•m
1061 series 182 ~ 245 N•m
1089 series 178 ~ 235 N•m
