(c). Screw up the 8 bolts of the secondary-axle rear
bearing cover.
Torque:

19. detection after the assembly of transmission axle
(a). Detect the secondary-axle axial clearance. (Refer to “chapter 31 a transmission (646b/651b)-transmission assembly,
overhaul”)
(b). All the first-axle and secondary-axle gears shall be correctly correspond to the positions of intermediate axle gears;
adjust them through adjusting the adjustable gaskets of the intermediate axle.
(c). Turn the synchronizer for gear engagement test, the gear shall rotate normally.

20. Install the transmission upper cover assembly
(d). Install the upper cover assembly.
Torque:

646B 33~42 N•m
651B 33~42 N•m

HINT:
Apply sealant while installing the cover plate of the power
take-off hole.

Notice
Inspect whether there are remains and foreign matters
in the housing before closing the upper cover of the
31A transmission, all the gears and gear shift forks shall be
at neutral position, take gear engagement test for each
gear after installation, no abnormality shall be found.

21. Install the center brake assembly
(a). Install the center brake assembly with baffle plate.
