1 Stitch through the rope a couple of times
working towards the end of the rope and
catching the loose end of the twine so it
will not pull out.
2 Now start to wrap the twine tightly round
the rope.
3 Work the wrapping back from the end
until the whipping is long enough.
4 Push the needle in to the rope at the base
of the whipping and out directly opposite.
5 Bring the twine straight up to the top of
the whipping and push straight through
the rope down the other side of the
whipping and trough the rope again,
coming out at the first entry point.
6 Repeat this so there are two strands of
twine on both sides of fhe whipping.
7, 8 Finish the whipping as a seizing (see
page 86) then trim end of rope.
9 Finished palm and needle whipping on
braided rope.
