Shuffle Step
Sample Activities
Shuffle forward, back, lateral at a fast tempo
Can use hand signal from the coach or go to a cone on the floor
Toss ball four directions, catch at midline with arms extended
Toss or serve the ball in four directions and execute a forearm pass
Toss a ball have players shuffle to the ball and execute an overhead set
Execute a lunge step to catch a ball, proceed to forearm pass
Checklist
Athlete maintains a medium posture, with
shoulders forward and center of gravity over
both feet
Arms are relaxed, bent comfortably at the
elbows
The athlete will shuffle to the ball, come to a
balanced stop and execute the pass or set
Keep the head level while moving to the ball
