                       20-K1 CELEBRATES



                 CARIBBEAN CULTURE



                                       LABOR DAY PARADE, 2021

                                                  Marching “tall and proud,” 20-K1 District Governor
                                                 Anthony B. Cochran and SVDG Antonio Robles were
                                                 surrounded by Lions from Brooklyn and Queens as they
                                                 took center stage on Eastern Parkway, Brooklyn, NY.
                                                 behind Governor Cochran’s Banner,  “Growth Through
                                                 Service Teaming Together.”
                                                 Lions, in bright yellow vests celebrated and promoted
                                                 Lionism while supporting District 20-K1. With flags of the
                                                 Caribbean flying high and masqueraders and observers
                                                 dancing in the street to the rhythms of cultural music,
                                                 everyone was enjoying the parade along the route from
                                                 Nostrand Avenue to Washington Avenue. Lions of District
                                                 20-K1 received overwhelming attention from participating
                                                 politicians.  Among the crowd were Brooklyn Borough
                                                 President, Hon. Eric Adams, Mayor Bill de Blasio and First
                                                 Lady Chirlane McCray, Congressman Hakeem Jeffries,
         DG Anthony Cochran(right) with Hon. Eric Adams,  NYS Senator Kevin Parker and US Senate Majority Leader
         Brooklyn Borough President
                                                 Charles Schumer. News reporters representing local and
                                                 national TV, radio and print platforms provided adequate
                                                 coverage of the event.  Of course, every Lion had a
                                                 camera to record personal memories. TV Channel 12
                                                 conducted a short interview with DG Cochran who shared
                                                 the goals of Lionism and projects of humanitarian
                                                 community service.

                                                 Although this was not a pre-planned gathering, many
                                                 Lions participated. Brooklyn Midwood Lions Club must be
                                                 congratulated for their representation of nine members.
                                                 Each participating club was identified by the Club’s name
                                                 imprinted on the back of each Lion’s yellow vest. Blessed
                                                 with perfect weather, it was a wonderful day for “Growth
                                                 Through Service Teaming Together”
