SPOTLIGHT ON CLUBS:
Sharing our Stories
Inspiring Minds Through Service
SPRINGFIELD GARDENS LIONS ,
On Tuesday, December 12, 2023, the club was delighted to host Zone Chairperson Wilma Kirk at their Monthly Board
and General Membership Meeting. She brought warm greetings on behalf of International President Dr. Patti Hill
and District Governor Antonio Robles. Highlights of her message inspired members to:
1. Continue engaging in Leadership training on MyLion and other opportunities provided by the
District.
2. Establish partnerships with other community-based organizations to support the needs of the
Springfield Gardens community.
3. Develop purposeful service projects that will inspire membership recruitment and retention.
We look forward to continuing our partnership with ZC Wilma as we support our District leadership.
On November 19 and 20, club members were thrilled to donate Thanksgiving Day baskets and provide warm meals to
families needing support. Deliveries were made to St. Mary Magdalene Roman Catholic Church, Christ the King
Roman Catholic Church, St. John Baptist Church, Inwood, and Helen Keller Services for the Blind in Hempstead.
Each basket contained a turkey, rolls, cranberry sauce, fresh collards and string beans, cornbread, sweet potato pie,
apple cider, and desserts.
Springfield Gardens Lions Club, Inc. thanks their community partners for the donations of turkeys to stock these
baskets.
