Lion Nancy Miller has served as a member of Downtown Brooklyn Lions Club for many years before joining Brooklyn Bridge Lions Club.
The National Association of Social Workers (NASW)_ presented VISIONS Executive Director / CEO Lion Nancy Miller, LMSW, with their 2022
Lifetime Achievement Award, in conjunction with the NASW National Conference on Friday June 24.
This national award recognized Lion Nancy and celebrates her lifetime of significant contributions to the field of social work through her
     work at VISIONS.
Lion Nancy has been a key part of VISIONS for 50 years, starting as a Summer Counselor and working her way up to Executive Director,
a position that she has held for 35 years. Her leadership style puts blind participants and their needs at the forefront of all decision-
making and at the top of VISIONS organizational chart.
She believes in the crucial importance of including families in the process of receiving services.
From training parents and siblings of blind babies, toddlers and youth while blindfolded (so they can get a full understanding of the
family member’s needs and serve as a support and advocate), to connecting families to supportive networks, Lion Nancy has taken
significant financial and programatic risks to provide needed services. VISIONS most innovative programs include VISIONS : Center on Aging
(the only city-funded center for 60+ older blind adults), VISIONS Vocational and Rehab Residential Center that provides job training and
placement for blind 18 - 24 year olds.

With an unheard of 4% staff turnover, VISIONS is proud to provide the demanding, innovative, and high level holistic services that respond
     to individual needs.
