@LITERACY WITH VISION SCREENING
On Saturday August 13th 2022 Queens United Lions
partnered with Aliento De Vida Church to host a
Literacy Project. The club was blessed with
contributions from local businesses and support from
the 110th Precinct,Youth Explores.
Preparing for school with vision screening and literacy support
We distributed over 150 back packs, school supplies,
fiction and non-fiction grade appropriate literature.
What made the occasion extra special was the
opportunity for FREE Vision screening provided by
District 20-K1 certified vision screener, Lion Lavern
Harrison (Central Brooklyn Lions Club). The children all
left with smiles and a sticker. (see photos)
We appreciate the assistance from Lion Jose Santiago Vision screening in progress
(Queens Las Americas) and ZC Haydee Llanos (Starrett
City / Spring Creek.) This event was successful because
of the love we have for our community and the unity
of working together as one.
