Scenario 2: Activities-Exercise Pattern
Background:
A 40-year-old patient, Mrs. Malika, reports difficulty breathing after short walks and mentions that her feet
swell by the end of the day. She has also noticed a persistent cough and occasional discomfort in her chest.
The nurse needs to assess her respiratory and cardiovascular health, as well as possible circulation issues.
Nurse Vina : “Assalamu alaikum, Mrs. Malika. I hope you’re feeling comfortable today despite
the challenges you’ve been experiencing.”
Mrs. Malika : “Wa alaikum assalam, Nurse Vina. Thank you. I’ve been struggling with my
breathing and feeling quite uneasy.”
Nurse Vina : “I’m sorry to hear that. Let’s start with some questions to better understand your
situation. (1) ____________ cause you to feel out of breath?” (Clue: Asking about
activities)
Mrs. Malika : “Even short walks or climbing stairs make it hard to breathe.”
