conducting this type of pre-launch you will firstly create
anticipation and be able to gauge the level of
engagement from your prospective customers. Creating
a “shortage” of available product or a special intro offer
will sometimes work and people will wait for the
availability of the product. However, this will only work
for a pre-launch. Possibilities exist for a full launch - you
could ask your producer to only produce on-demand,
weekly or monthly.
One of the most important considerations is the type of
industry you are launching into as fashion, food,
technology all have different considerations for
production and stock holding levels like sizes for
example.
For your launch, priority number one is to make sure
your producer is prepared. If you are the producer, you
need to have sufficient raw materials to manufacture
your item and stock, but produce only sufficient for the
launch. Everything else is down to your gut, experience
and history which you build up over time.
