TIP 7 CERTIFICATION
A product certificate will tell your customer that your
product meets a certain industry-specific standard or
benchmark. A certificate will tell you which recognized
method was used to test your product and the testing
company’s mark of approval will instantly inform your
customer that the tests have been completed by a
recognized method and independent testing company.
This is very important for the customer to see that you
have used an independent source to test and you have
not just tested it yourself.
Some tests are required by law to be conducted and
some are purely voluntary. It is all dependent on which
industry and target market you are aiming for. The best
place to start is to look at your competition and see what
tests they have conducted and who they were tested by.
You might even find a competitive advantage over your
competition if your product can outperform in a certain
test.
In order to certify your products, it is important to
discuss your requirements with a testing company. They
