4. Ready to send?

So we're ready to send a little bit of radio, aren't we?

The golden rule is that you THINK about what you want to say.

Next, you press the PTT (Push to Talk) button (when you hear that the frequency

is free).

Then, you SPEAK clearly and at a normal speaking speed (about 100 words per

minute), using the correct phrases. When you're done, let go the PTT button.

4.1 Station call sign

When we are going to make a call, we need to know the station's call sign.

It could be Herning Radio, for example.

Our plane could be OY-CTZ.

An introductory call could be like this:

➢ Herning Radio OSKAR YANKEE CHARLIE TANGO ZULU

The answer from Herning Radio could be:

➢ OSKAR TANGO ZULU Herning Radio
