b) take control of the communication or, as the case may be, transfer it to
another while simultaneously informing the aircraft thereof.
c) notify all appropriate persons in accordance with the alerting plan.
10.1.1.1 Radio silence
The aircraft in distress or the aeronautical station which has taken control of the
distress traffic may impose radio silence on others who interfere with the
exchange of distress traffic by broadcasting:
The aeronautical station call sign – All stations, “Stop transmitting, Mayday”.

STOP TRANSMITTING
MAYDAY
10.1.1.2 Canceling radio silence
When the aircraft that has transmitted Mayday is no longer in a distress
situation, it must transmit a cancellation thereof to the controlling aeronautical
station as follows:
The aeronautical station call sign – aircraft call sign – “Cancel distress”
