8.1.1.1 Your procedures in case of radio failure

You have verified that your transmitter is OK, but you are not getting a response.

Hoping that it is the other person's equipment that is malfunctioning, you

continue to make reports.

You begin these with the phrase:

- "Transmitting blind"

and submit the reports you would otherwise submit.

You have found that there is an error in your receiver.

You begin with the phrase:

- "Transmitting blind due to receiver failure"

and submit the reports you would otherwise submit.

The report should include information about what the pilot intends to do and

the time for the next call.

The entire message should only be sent once, but parts of the message should

be repeated to give the recipient greater opportunity for understanding and

because the message could coincide with messages from other aircraft.

The time of the next expected call is indicated so that the frequency can be free

and the ground station can be prepared.

E.g.:

”Billund Twr. OYBKA transmitting blind passed Give 43 next call 47 – i say

again – Billund Tower OYBKA transmitting blind passed Give 43 next call

47”

If the aircraft is equipped with a transponder, you squawk 7600.
