Jesus says that, “God is the spirit, and his worshipers must
worship in the spirit and in truth” (John 4:24).
Many will think from this verse that God only resides in a
spirit form. But God far sur-passes a simple spiritual being.
Identifying God as a formless spirit that does not take shape
or form is a very dangerous idea. Apostle John on the isle
of Patmos saw the form of God through the Holy Spirit, and
described it in the following way:
“At once I was in the spirit, and there before me was a
throne in heaven with someone sitting on it. And the one
who sat there had the appearance of jasper and carnelian.
A rainbow, resembling an emerald, encircled the throne”
(Revelations 4:2-3).
‘The Throne in heaven with someone sitting on it’ points
to God. The Apostle John clearly states that he has witnessed
the appearance of God. The appearance of God was said to
be en-circled by jasper, carnelian and a rainbow. This goes
on to say that the glory of God is great and mighty.
Apostle John is not the only person to have seen the
appearance of God. Moses also saw the appearance of God.
Moses in his written text describes the scene.
