“Moses and Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, and the seventy
elders of Israel went up and saw the God of Israel. Under

his feet was something like a pavement made of sapphire,
clear as the sky itself. But God did not raise his hand against

these leaders of the Israelites; they saw God, and they ate and
drank” (Exodus 24:9-11).

Moses with Aaron, Nadab, Abihu and the seventy Elders of

Israel together saw God. They all saw God, and ate and drank
under the feet of God. Moses actually saw the back of God.

“Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back;

but my face must not be seen” (Exodus 33:23).

There is another person who has seen the appearance of
God. That is the priest Ezekiel. Ezekiel goes on to describe

God in the following way:

“Above the expanse over their heads was what looked like
a throne of sapphire, and high above on the throne was a

figure like that of a man. I saw that from what appeared to be
his waist up he looked like glowing metal, as if full of fire,
