Behavioral experts have determined that each of us has a predominant
style which controls how we tend to do things.
Have you ever met someone for the first time where you felt certain
warmth, a sort of immediate bonding? And later, realizing that your style
worked so well that time, you tried the same approach on someone else,
only to feel like “we’re not clicking”?
That’s because one’s natural style is more appealing to some behavioral
types than it is to others. And it’s not just you; everyone else is in the
same situation, regardless of their own personal behavioral style.
Numerous behavioral studies support the theory that we tend to behave in
ways which can be categorized and even predicted to a certain degree, if
we understand the different behavioral styles.
And once we understand the differences in people’s styles, we can adapt
our own style to “click” more effectively with different people.
Our challenge is to understand our own style while keeping in mind that it
may be different from another person’s style.
