Here are examples of what different audience styles like to hear:
LIONS like to have bottom line, summary presentations. To appeal to
them, our presentation files should include bullet points, like “three
ways to ….” “Six points for…” etc. They are selective listeners and will
not listen to everything that is said. To please them, be concise.
PORPOISES like stimulating, upbeat presentations. For them, our files
should have personal stories and humor. They like to laugh and be
entertained. To please them, be energetic.
KOALA like sincere presentations. Include files which contain an honest
evaluation of why this presentation is important. To please them, be
warm and helpful.
FOXES like informative presentations. Their files would be loaded with
data. To please them, offer plenty of facts, figures, and time to process
what is said.
By remembering that any group consists of different styles, we can
“feed” them a little of the food that they like in our presentations instead
of feeding them all the same food, which will satisfy only a small
number of our listeners.
